Delivering CSR Local Advisor Certificate to 18 people
The Representative Office of VCCI Nghe An has delivered CSR Local Advisor Certificate to 18 representatives of businesses and organizations in the province.
The trainning course was conducted within 2 days (December 3rd and 4th 2014) attracting more than 20 participants mainly coming from businesses. Lectures were 4 National CSR Experts together with Mr. Florian Beranek, UNIDO Lead CSR Expert. This event was one of the training courses under framework of the project ““From Global Compact to Local Impact! - Promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) among Vietnamese Business Community for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP)” - a joint initiative of the Office for Business Sustainable Development (SDforB) at the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) ,funded by the UN One Plan Fund (OPF) co-organized with the Representative Office of VCCI Nghe An. The project also aims for synergies with the EU funded Switch Asia policy module on the development of a national SCP action plan lead by UNEP as well as with the UN Global Compact Vietnam Network under VCCI-SDforB. UNEP plans to disseminate awareness material targeting the private sector of the participating countries and informing them about the governmental plans for SCP and Resource Efficiency (RE) and their opportunities, responsibilities and obligations according to these plans. UNEP will complement UNIDO’s business sector profile to facilitate CSR in Viet Nam.
18 participants who completed 2-day training course were rewarded with the Completion of CSR Local Advisor Certificate. Content of the course consisted of issues such as: CSR History and Scope, 07 Principles, licence to operate, stakeholders engagement; core competencies, 10 United Nations Global Compact, etc. After the training course, those participants can be key members continuing to develop CSR team or create a new CSR team in their companies.
Most attendees shared that the training course was meaningful andpractical for businesses not only in global economic context, but also helpful to micro local companies. CSR aims for good enterprise with good products, good services serving customers in best way and finallywinning customers’ trust. Accordingly companies earn profit and achieve stable development without any harm to the environment and create the best foundation for future generations./.
