CSR Calendar Forum on Consumers' Trust, HCMC 19.01.2013 and Hanoi 22.01.2013
How to improve consumers' trust in Vietnamese products and services.
Raising consumers' trust - Encouraging local products - Improving business.
Three years after the launch of "Vietnamese use Vietnamese Goods" campaign, consumers seem to have better view on local products. However, recent surveys have showed that majority would rather choose foreign imports than "Made in Vietnam". Why people prefer "Imported" ? There appear to exist many reasons beyond just technical specifications. Today's consumer demands unbiased and comprehensive product information, credible labeling, transparent warranty mechanisms, a traceable supply and sales chain, active post-sales services, etc. In short words: Consumers need to trust the product and the seller.
Developing the domestic market depends on such topics. Improving requires an active dialogue between manufactures, service providers, retailers, law-maker and consumers. In particular the retail sector plays an important role as the "tangible" link between producer and consumer.
The CSR Calendar Forum on “How to improve consumers' trust in Vietnamese Products and Services?” organized by VCCI-UNIDO CSR Project in cooperation with Association of Vietnam Retailers – AVR is aiming to initiate such a dialogue.
This is an opportunity to share your experience with national expert Ms. Dinh Thi My Loan – Chairwoman of AVR and representatives from retailers and producers in Vietnam. Short key-statements of all stakeholders involved are followed by an open discussion leading to a better understanding, a respectful dialogue and finally to recommendations and concrete next steps.
